ACCIONA Water has been awarded the Integral Water Management Service of the municipality of Boca del Rio, in the metropolitan area of Veracruz, in southeastern Mexico, for a period of 30 years. The contract – which amounts to about 800 million euros – provides for water management to manage the provision of public services for the supply and distribution of potable water, operation of the sewage network and treatment of wastewater, and Take care of the management of the more than 50,000 customers paid to the service.
The objective of the contract is the improvement in the service of potable water that the users receive, consisting in increasing the continuity of the service and the quantity and quality of the water. ACCIONA Water will invest in the concession 100 million of euros, of which more than 80 million are destined to the improvement of the hydraulic infrastructures. Another very important aspect is to improve the technical efficiency of the nets to reduce the high water losses that occur in the hydraulic system and consequently improve the environmental impact.
Customers will be given commercial attention based on information and permanent transparency, supported by the implementation of new information and knowledge technologies (ICT). The purpose of the contract is to improve the service of drinking water that users receive, consisting of increasing the continuity of service and the quantity and quality of the water. “
For the management of the contract, a company will be constituted in which the City Council (2%) participates as shareholders, Acciona Water (69%) and Malibran (29%), being Acciona water the technological partner. The resulting company will be a company of water of Mouth (CAB).
Extensive experience in water treatment and management

Extensive Mexican experience
