A large part of the material of our connections is made of polyethylene, which gives the accessory the following characteristics:
• Good insulator – can prevent freezing of the liquid that the tubing is racking.
• Abrasion and corrosion resistant.
• Flexible and hard.
•Resistant to chemical attack – Does not rust, oxidize, mark, corrode or lose wall thickness by chemical or electrical reactions of the surrounding terrain.
.
• Low weight: Reduces the need and costs of heavy machinery.
PE is therefore a good alternative where the traditional pipes are inadequate, where there are movements of the base or where aggressive conditions occur in the field. There are different types of polyethylene. Each type is characterized by a minimum resistance required.
Union Systems
The tubes of similar materials and wall thicknesses can be joined by a butt joint or electrofusion. The tubes of similar materials but different wall thicknesses can only be joined through the electrofusion.
The joint by butt system of PE80 and PE100 is not recommended on work.
Electrofusion
All electrofusion fittings contain a heating coil, which when melted melts the adjacent material. When it comes into contact with the pipe, the surface also melts and both materials mix. After the heating cycle, the tube and the piece are allowed to cool so that the molten product mixture solidifies and forms a homogeneous bond.
The Tuberia Moreno electrofusion range includes hoses, reductions, load connections, branch outlets, elbows, tees, repair clamps and the “O” module.
Our connections are available in various water and gas applications.
It is important to note that the connection must have equal or greater pressure resistance than the pipe.
The heating coil of the accessories are positioned to ensure optimum pressure of the melted material.
. This is achieved by:
• Position the heating loop as close to the joint surface as possible.
• Maintaining heat distribution evenly.
• Controlling the pressure of the melted material
• Protecting the heating coils from damage.
Bar codes
All of our fittings have a bar code that contains the information needed for the electrofusion machine. This information is read through a pencil reader and the machine will automatically start the melting process.
The machine will automatically adjust the welding time to the possible variations in ambient temperature. Within our range of products we have different types of electrofusion machines for both water and gas with different traceability functions.
Butt Fusion-a TESTA
It should only be used to join PE with the same SDR (STANDARD DIMENSIONAL ratio: ratio between Nominal diameter and wall thickness). It is the method by which the ends of two pieces of PE (tube and connections) are heated up to create a melted mass and pressed for a time of melting and cooling to form a homogeneous mixture. The surfaces are heated by heating plates of a butt-welding machine.
The Union that is created is highly resistant and has the same pressure resistance as the pipe.
We offer a wide range of PE100 parts including reductions, elbows, teas, plugs, flanges, …
